Band & Orchestra
Northshore School District elementary schools offer a comprehensive music program to students in grades K-5 during the academic school day. In grade 5, students may choose between Beginning Band, Beginning Orchestra or Experience Music program. In addition, elementary schools offer Choir as an extracurricular activity.
5th Grade Course Options
Beginning Band
Learning to play a band instrument as part of a performing band ensemble with concert performances. Instruments:

Beginning Orchestra
Learning to play a string instrument as part of a performing string ensemble with concert performances. Instruments:
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello

What to Expect
In May or June, all 4th grade students will visit the 5th grade music classes to meet the instructors and learn about the different 5th grade class choices. After their visit, students will be asked to rank their top three choices for their 5th grade music class.
